Engine emission measurements are typically made in very different environments and conditions depending on the purpose of the measurement. Standardized and regulated particle emission measurem

ents are made in test cell environments, PTI stations and onboard moving vehicles according to the details described in the regulations and standards. For various research purposes, engine emissions can be measured in different conditions and even pre-DPF conditions. The requirements for the measurement instrument in these different conditions can vary and need to be considered when choosing the correct instrumentation for the measurements.
